Offline mode isn't broken, just frustrating if you have never bothered to go offline.

But, you only have to go offline once. ever.

Don't get me wrong i like Steam , i love the sales , i have Steam running on startup while i run Origin only for BF3 but i just can't understand the blind and unflinching faith and total bias a lot of people here display towards Steam.
Basically all Steam=AWESOME , everything else BAD !! with Origin being the top hater/Steam fanboy target.

I doubt EA can get the deals made. That said, while I'm mostly behind Valve...there's no logic behind standing behind a company blindly. But the herd mentality is easy to be sucked into online.

To be honest...I'm indifferent on MS doing a store but actually worried about Valve doing it. If they spend to much money on it and it doesn't succeed that will have an impact on the rest of their endeavors.

Not sure if you two are serious. Origin doesn't suck because it's not Steam, and Microsoft has been hosting a clinic on how not to listen to customers.

Its not that extreme. If steam, right now, takes all your games and such away for breaking TOS, I can easily see them doing it if they made an OS and you broke the TOS. You no longer get to use it. They could add in rules about piracy in such, as they'd want you to be purchasing stuff via their store, not getting it free online.

That's the theory yes, I wish it worked that well in practice. You also have to launch a game at least once in online mode for it to work in offline mode, happened a few times when the net was out and I wanted to try a game that i never launched and it of course just would not launch.
