Rampage IV Extreme sloppy box.

Thread Starter
Hello guys,
I have a question mainly to the RIVE owners. I ve recently bought 2nd RIV for next build . I dont have the box for the 1st one but i am thinking about the new one - it came in a box and it seems that those 2 "internal black boxes are quite loose in the red "big" box. I dont remember how it was with the 1st mobo but its quite weird. If i shake the big box a little You can feel that those 2 black boxes are moving. Can You guys tell me if You shake Your RIV E boxes a little , can YOu feel those internal black boxes are loose and do not fill the "whole" big red box ? I am thinking of replaceing hte board before i ve used it , Id rather buy the piece that seems to be properly secured during shipping - who knows what could happen to this board. Thats why i need Your feedback , because i dont remember if that is normal or not .

The components in the bottom part will move. As it has all the accessories in the bottom box. You can flip the lid up on the front to see if the board is secure. Since it has a window on it. But it is okay and nothing to worry about. Thanks

as far as i remember , both black boxes were loose. Im gonna double check this tomorrow tho since i dont have it near me now . And well , i dont remember the same thing happening when i ve opened my 1st RIV. Thanks for the fast reply : )

EDIT: Btw ive opened the part of the red box that has that handle and i could see those black boxes are not fitting well to the big box and certainly there is some free sace between them...

Well some of the parts in the accessory box do move if you shake the bog box (like the SLI/CFX bridges, sata cables, the extra backplate etc.) so that part of it is normal.

I haven't noticed any movement with the black boxes themselves though. I've had two RIVEs (one BF3 edition and one normal) and neither one had the problem.

I ve called all distributors in Poland meanwhile and all say that ASUS ships those mobos to them like this and that i was right because older mobos were shippid with tight boxes. So there is some issue at ASUS factories ...
