Google probably hires only engineers since not many people graduate with that major. Programmers are pretty common nowadays and you have to be really AMAZING at programing to get a job at Google, otherwise, if you are someone who just graduated from College, they won't even look at you.

I really doubt they hire only engineers. They have to have an IT team handling online orders/support tickets/general software/hardware maintenance. I don't think they'd hire engineers to cover all of that. They also have drivers for Google Street View; I've seen them around where I live and I always wonder where they report to. My guess is they come from other states and are sent on very long trips. I've seen Subaru Impreza and Toyota Prius street view cars.

After looking into it, I found they even hire "Ad Quality Raters," which work from home 10-30 hours a week on a self-directed schedule. Not the kind of work I'd be looking for but it goes to show there's a lot more than just engineering/programming positions at Google. They have over 30,000 employees, they can't possibly only hire engineers.

That would be a good option as well, along with life insurance if she was in an "accident" you'd be loaded lol
