Momentus XT 500GB 2.5" HDD with 4GB SLC Cache. Good for single-bay laptops.

There's at least a few people on overclock.net that have these drives. I never saw prices like this even before the flooding - they seem to be clearing out SATA2 stock to make way for the SATA3 versions?

Hmm, may be what I need for my HTPC. I have an SSD and HDD in it (SSD is OS, HDD is DVR) and want to go to a smaller case and 1 2.5" HDD (I had issues trying to use the SSD as the OS and DVR drive).

Most SSDs are pretty small (capacity wise), and aren't really suitable for recording lots of TV shows. Sounds like this drive would be perfect for you. It's probably pretty quiet too - maybe completely inaudible from a distance.

I have one in my Toshiba Laptop.

Well worth the money if you ask me. You will notice a marked difference in boot and frequently used programs, including games. It just plain works great!
