How does the US own Chine, being in 13 TRILLION, (with a T, for Trillion) dollars of dept. You don't own any country anyway.

Thread Starter
well i read through all of the replies and personally i think it will be what like 2 people said,

it will dominate price/performance of a pc when it first comes out but be outdated within like 2 years.

also the 16 core processor, do me a favor and google xbox 720 16 core.... i dont know how credible the websites are but i was looking at xbox 720 specifications in google and literally every website on the front page of google said it will be 16 core, with the kinect using 4 cores all on its own, and games utilizing all 16 cores

i was VERY skeptical (in fact seeing it as almost impossible) from the beginning, so theres no reason to call me retarded thats just unnecessary, i was just wondering if anyone can confirm the whole 16 core thing/ high end 7xxx gpu.

also nobody really posted their sources of information either, so theres really no reason to make such strong assumptions against what i said without those "credible" sources you get your information from. theres really no reason to argue. instead its better to be useful and post articles with credible information so everyone can benefit and learn something, rather than just throwing in your own opinion

even if it uses just 6 or 8 cores it would be brilliant, bringing better hardware support for games on PC.

It could be hybrid crossfire? smile.gif

before we get too in depth on the pc vs console war, as these always turn into.
the current xbox OS is 16mb, and is only permitted to use 32mb of ram.
it has a single job, play video games.

if you had a windows os or some gaming os that did the same thing pc; with just net access, video, audio it would at least triple your performance.

edit- in short, you dont need as much cpu, ram, and gpu power on a box that runs an OS close to the size of an android tablet.

Pricing wise this sounds very unfeasible. I'd be shocked to see more than a 7770 or 7750 in the xbox 720, and I don't see massively multi-threaded console games any time soon either.

you can buy a twin frozr 7850 from china for $160. they are still making a large profit also. you can actually even get them much less depending on the amount you buy.
the xbox will only be buying the gpu, no pcb, fan, package, or anything unnecessary. also they will be buying them in huge quantities, like a million at a time, or some contract that would say we will buy 50 million within this time span for this X amount per unit.
wouldn't be shocked if they got them for about $25 per, if even that much.

china and other areas around there make 90% (or give or take) of the worlds electronic parts, even Texas instruments (a US based company sources most of their items to that part of the globe)
this is where i used to buy my electronics in bulk or custom built items at a fraction of the prices i could get them in US.

you also have to remember, xbox isn't sold to make a profit. they do that with content you buy on the system like movies, tv shows, games, and the online membership.

I'd say you'll be looking at more than $1000.00

I remember paying 500$ for my xbox at release.

lol I love how multiple people thought I was being serious when I said 16 cores and 2x 7970s, I don't think I could have been any more sarcastic but I guess several have taken my jest as being literal.. face palm...
