BSOD's & Crashes w/ .25beta16pre5

Thread Starter
well, after hearing some initial yip-yap about the new ati.tool .25b16pre5. So I install it... set everything up... and whadda'ya know, it runs fine! Once... and also drops my AquaMark 3 score down by about 12,000. And the clock settings were set exactly the same as I usually set Overdrive in CCC. Upon returning to windows from my dissapointing AM3 run, I notice that ati.tool has gone back to 2d clocks. So I adjust. So I get serious artificing all over the screen. Whew, CCC saves the day and resets the drivers. Again, I attempt to adjust the clocks. This time, it works, and I get the clocks up to 695 and 1050(where I keep overdrive). Seems like everything is allright. I double click AquaMark 3, and the program begins to load.... Then all of a sudden, BLAOW! BSOD IN YO' FACE $@%#! After a system reset, I return to windows (uber-quickly of course) and attempt, yet again, to adjust settings. This time, I up the voltages to 1.450main, and like 2 or 3 clicks on the secondary. I drop the clocks to 675/1035, things look allright, then as soon as I minimize ati.tool... BLAOW! BSOD IN YO' FACE... AGAIN... $@%#!

As you may have probably guessed, I'm pretty ticked at this point, and have gone back to using CCC Overdrive ( AquaMark 3 w/ Overdrive = 115,510 ).
At least until someone can tell me what/if I'm doing anything wrong, and what I should be doing.
1. Should I have the clocks unlocked in CCC?
2. Do I need to disable "Hotkey" Poller in Services.msc?
3. What voltage changes should I make, if any?
4. Should I allow my BIOS to auto-detect PCI Clocks? (enable/disable)
5. What version of ATi.Tool should I be using? (I'm running .25b16pre5)
6. Anything else I havent thought of at this point?
7. Should I just stick with Overdrive with scores like that?

Thanks crew...

I think that was my 'yip yap' you listened too Every system is different I guess...

In answer to your questions:

1. I completely uninstall CCC and use ATI Tool for overclocking and Tray Tools for the graphics
2. I don't disable any of the ATI services
3. My voltage settings are: VGPU - 1.5v, MVDDC - 2.105v, MVDDQ - 2.105v, VDDCI - 1.389v.....that gets me 725 Core & 1085 Mem (Stable and can go higher on the core)
4. Lock your PCI at 100mhz
5. BetaPre5b16 runs perfectly for me. I did a lot of research getting it to run the way it does.
6. Consider Tray Tools?
7. Up to you mate
