And if you planning to go SLI in the future, don't bother with Ultra-D because i will pay $10-$20 for SLI bridge and prolly $10 for circuitwriter
ok, suppose i want sli in the near future and the best overclockability...which dfi to go with?

If you have no pland to go SLI the Ultra D is an excellent MB. RAM should not ge an issue.
Your current MB is a bit odd at times in the BIOS options but a good OCer... perhaps a little light can be shed in the FAQ.

When possible please use the "Edit" button

SLI ... the "Expert" for sure
Last I looked it's selling for the same price as the SLI-DR.

The SLI-DR, SLI-DR Expert, or SLI-D

Only difference between the SLI-DR and the SLI-D is that the DR has 4 more SATA ports, the Expert has more RAM settings and a different layout but its not as great as the SLI-DR IMO.

And you really don't need like $200 RAM for DFI boards... just don't get ValueRAM or ValueSelect or any RAM with the word Value in it. Thats the type of RAM that has trouble with these boards. Just get a nice/decent pair of OCZ, Geil, or G.Skill and you'll be fine

True. I didn't think about that.

But if you CAN get an SLi Bridge for less than $10 you should be good, a circuitwriter isn't needed, as the mod was done with a NO.2 Penicl.

And also, some of the new Ultra-Ds has the spots epoxied so you'll have to sand it off to get to the connectors, not worth it IMO. Just go with an SLI-D for like $20 more.

i'm using g.skill zx which i thought was really good, affordable ram.

what's the difference between the board being a UT or not?

The only thing I know about the UT part is that its compatible with SATA2. If its not UT then the board only supports SATA.
