eBay for armaflex, neoprene, closed cell foam, etc. Or www.under-the-ice.com for some bigger quantities. Home depot also has armaflex tape and tube neoprene for cheap that can be flattened in a day or so with some plywood and books.

yeah i saw that tybe insulation from grainger just a few hours ago.. im not familiar with the brand so was wondering if anyone had tried it..
glad to know its good quality! its cheap too! under $20 for 6 feet of 1/2" thick, 3-5/8" diameter!!

Like I said dont quote me on the size I ordered two diffrent sizes and cant remember what they were 3 1/2 seems a little big to me maybe someone can chime in here. But thats the same stuff my pot was shipped with.

maybe 3" would be better.. im pretty sure the piece im using now is 3-1/2" though..
by the time i do painters tape and one layer of armaflex tape, it fits pretty snug. depends on what pot youre using to, of course. diameter is easy to figure out.. at least we know that this grainger stuff is of decent quality!
