OC'ed 580GTX SLI, running for 2 years...can it run for 2 more?

Hey all,

I've had them for almost 2 years running @ 1.1v under gaming with no issues. I can't upgrade for another 2 years, so will the cards survive that long oc'ed? (Cooler is 3x Windforce from Gigabyte, temps are around 76c-80c under full load)

They will survive, but they might not be able to support the overclock later. Make sure you keep the voltage low when not gaming. But they will not die.

same here, i will keep mine for at least one year, i got mine at 900 /1800/2100 1.1v NO problems at all

yes but dont make high oc with high voltage with these cards are overkill

Thx for the reply guys. One last question, will they last another 2 years if I use 1.2v for gaming (950MHz core)? it helped a lot in metro.

I had my 480 SLI for 2 years overclocked and it survived and showed no sign of degradation. warranty works different here in the philippines though. distributors take care of the rma's not the manufacturers so I had to sell them both so I can get another 2 years warranty for a new card

I don't think anyone will know this. If it was me, I'd run 1.2v 24/7. I'm pumping 1.25v into my gtx480, thing is a beast!
