That said on ebay you can get a pair of GR07's for 150.
Also, for 10 dollars more you can get some Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10s.

Best suggestion so far this thread, aside from common issues with the cord(which can be fixed with aftermarket cords.) They are some of the best for the price.

Mind naming a few? I'm genuinely curious.

You can use a speaker amplifier with a low noise floor.

While you can, the HE-6 is one of the hungriest headphones out there.

I've heard GR07's and I can't say I agree with them being superior as far as my own musical tastes go, plus I got my tf10s for $99 on Amazon last black friday. Haven't heard the others in person but have heard good things about the Brainwavz B2 though.

JH13-Pro are my favorites by a fairly wide margin.

I use my Klipsch Image X10 in the gym, which are not bad.

I don't agree with most headphone comparisons (or audio comparisons in general) from a methodological perspective due to lack of proper control (amongst other factors), and feel that people should arrive to their transducer choices through personal auditioning. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
