Does it matter if I run 2 gigs, 3 gigs, of 4 gigs of DDR3200 ram?

I am running a overclocked x1900 video card with 2 gigs of supertalent ram. Will it make a difference if I run another gig of even two gigs of ram on my system? Will there be performance gains since I am running a 4200 dual core Athlon processor that has had rumors of not working with 4 gigs of ram? The thing is I am running an A8R32-MVP Deluxe motherboard and it says that it can run 4 gigs of ram just fine, I'm just afraid that it wont work or that I wont see a difference in performance before I go out and buy two more gigs of this cheap but very potent and stable memory. Also I just bought the 700 watt OCZ power supply so that I can better overclock with less instability issues, so hopefully this will allow me to upgrade around Christmas time without any problems. Just so you know, my Christmas agenda is to buy the FX-60 Ultimate gaming processor if it goes on sale for a crazy-cheap price!!!

Amds do not like running with 4 sticks or Ram. Just stick with the 2 unless you are a Photo Engineer cause you probaly won't notice any performance increase.

THANKS ALOT! I was not for sure if adding another stick would do much, so thanks again. I will now probably save up for a 26 or 27 inch LCD HD TV!!

agreed ^^

plus ocing witha asus will definatly be much harder with 4 gigs vice 2gigs, the boards can handle 2 gigs very well but 4 gigs usually only do well at stock speeds (or 4 sticks i should say whether they be 512 or 1 gig sticks )

As said, buying more than 2 gigs starts to be a waste of money unless you are a 3-d Graphical Engineer. Theres a reason that 2 gigs is the amount that marks the maximum for an average user, its all that is needed(most of the time)
