Worst comes to worst, wipe the hard drive.

Im sure others will have more efficient methods of removal though

Good Luck and free bump!

Boot in safe mode, run recovery tools.
Run Clamwin
Boot a linux live distro when you figure out what's wrong and work from there.
etc etc

LOL something about this post makes me laugh.

You need to boot into safe mode and start scanning from there. I think you can use Windows Defender for a start. Download some free antivirus software (haven't had to in a while so I don't know what's good) and scan some more.

I always get paranoid if I get a Virus...The reason is that 9 times out of 10 Avast or AVG catches the issue, and no problems arise, however I always get a feeling that something is still sitting out there. Alot of times if I get a virus, I tend to wipe my machine and start from scratch...Basically just to ensure I am starting fresh again. Doesn't happen that often though.

I would run the latest version of clamwin first. Boot in safe mode then run it from a USB drive.
