Thread Starter
came across this site looking for a bracket to fit a water cooler to a gpu
and thought i'd get tour thoughts on my build

case: corsair graphite ltd ed in white
mobo: crossfire v formulae
cpu: phenom II 1090t
gpu: palit gtx 560 ti 448
ram: 8GB corsair vengance
hdd: samsung f3 1Tb x2 in raid
psu: corsair tx 550w
cooling: 2x antec 620 (1 for the cpu, 1 for the gpu)

I might eventually put in a water cooling kit
some of the bits i'm getting new, the gpu i already have, mobo and gpu are from ebay

What is your budget for your system? Let's start off from there.

I would definitely invest into a 128GB SSD... they're relatively cheap as of late. You should definitely get one.

What will you primarily use the system for?

OP post says for "gaming and looks"... so basically he wants a system for gaming with components with a "base" color so they match.

Well you did ask for thoughts about your setup. The conflicting points for me (personally) would be,

1) Definitely you need to get a SSD. A lot of good deals for SSDs have been around ~$80 price, definitely buy one!!
Motherboard is fine, CPU is ok... definitely needs to be overclocked (although I think you could of done better with a Intel build).

I wanted to get an ssd but the more i read about them the more unsure i became, seems like some last for ages and others fail in days, plus with win7 even my athlon II 245 boots up quicker than my mobile phone smile.gif

not a bad start at all.....now if you had a beefier psu you could do SLI with the twin 560 448 cores and have an amazing rig. i do concur about adding an ssd and overclocking the 1090t. I rock that same chip myself and twin 570s and can tell you that your system would probably beat down on crysis 2 maxed. the 560 448 ftw core is more like a 570 anyway and i can pound on crysis 2 maxed on even one 570. overclock and proceed to enjoy games!
