Alright, so I managed to win one of the 3 SSDs off the "win an intel SSD" contest, and today it showed up. Being eager to test it, i swapped one of my drives for it, plugged it in, and booted up. Everything was fine until i attempted to do anything to the drive. Then everything just starts spitting out errors (wouldnt let me initialize, format, or read/write). I think, "Hmm, what about in another computer?" So i go and plug it into my bedside computer. Works absolutely flawlessly, allowing me to get the drive ready and then bench test it a bit. Put it back into my main rig, fails to work. Tried multiple ports, including the marvell controller ports, and absolutely nothing.
So, now im confused. Why would it just not work in my main rig and yet work fine in my bedside machine? Does it have something to do with the fact my current SSD is also a sandforce drive? or is it something else? FYI the intel drive in question is a 520 Series 120GB
