Ok, so to thart things off I have an HD5970 which I've overclocked a bit (but the issue persists with the oc or without) but whenever my computer wakes from Sleep or Hibernation or anything like that, the video corrupts all over my screen. Blocks of articats, screen goes black, ati popup says the driver quit working, blah blah blah. Weeell the driver never recovers and I usually have to do a hard reset which completely nullifies the point of putting it to sleep.
I've tried the 12.6 drivers as well as the beta 12.7 drivers. Happens every time.
Other issues I've been having are microstuttering from the crossfire (since its dual gpu) and a general lack on "smoothness" in gameplay.
As a crazy last ditch effort, I tried uninstalling the drivers altogether and I can still play Crysis 2 at about the same FPS; the 2nd GPU just doesn't kick in as much. With the whole ATI suite uninstalled, my games actually run smoother with less microstuttering AND IT SOLVES THE WAKING FROM SLEEP ISSUE!... I'm really confused, guys
Well any help would be greatly appreciated!
Obviously running without drivers is going to give me negative performance in the end, right? (Well without CCC, I mean)
