Strange problem please help.

I have a rather strange problem. I cant find anything similar while searching.

The other day I set windows to put the computer to sleep after 1 hour. (I never have success with this because my GPU card doesn't ever respond when waking up, but I tried it again anyway). When I tried to wake it up when I got home from work. The GPU didn't respond, so I couldn't see anything, so after waiting a few minutes I pressed the power button, which is supposed to tell windows to shutdown the PC.

Nothing happened. So I held the power button until it shut off, and then flipped the switch on the PSU because this is the only way to get the GPU back up after sleeping.

When I turned it back on, it didn't post. I hit the reset button and then it did post.

Now when I restart from windows, it just goes to a black screen and never posts. I have to hit the reset button.

If I go into the BIOS and exit, it just goes to a black screen and never posts. I have to hit the reset button.

If from windows I shut it down, it will shut down, but when I turn it back on it doesn't post. I have to hit the reset button.

I have tried loading bios defaults, I have drained power from the MB and remove the battery, but it keeps doing this. Ever since it woke up from sleeping.

It is getting annoying trying to tweak settings this way. Any ideas?

Well I don't really think its a windows problem because it happens when exiting the BIOS. I haven't updated the bios. The only thing I did before sleeping it, was turn on C1E support. I have since turned it off.

My graphics card is seated properly.

I had the most updated BIOS, but I reflashed it anyways. Same deal.

I turned PC on this morning and after logging into windows, it froze and then rebooted itself. It actually rebooted itself, and I didn't have to it the reset button. Then loaded windows fine.

Yes, I reset it succesfully both before and after the BIOS update. I have considered this being a RAM problem, but I have not had a problem with my RAM before. I will try this.

I didn't unplug it, but I did flip the off switch. Usually works. I will flip the switch, kill the UPS and unplug everything attached from the wall and let it sit for 30m and try again.

I have still having this issue.

Yesterday I turned PC on and got a blue screen loading windows. That was strange, doesn't happen often. I went to bios and set everything back to default/stock settings and save/exit. I still have to press the reset button after waiting 30s to make sure the bios saved. Got to windows and searched the BSOD code (0x03B). Info pointed to registry errors so I cleaned the registry, but upon loading the registry cleaner I got another BSOD (0x050).

Went into BIOS and uped vCore a tad and save/exit. booted to safe mode. cleaned registry there.

everything booted up fine after that. I ran memtest and windows memory diagnostics, and all that checked out. but CPUZ showed processor at 900Mhz. So rebooted again and upped the vcore a tad more.

got back to windows cpuz shows 3400Mz.

played BF3. Got fps of 22-30. Loaded afterburner and saw GPU was set to 405Mhz and wouldn't change if I set it manually. (725 is stock I OC to 850).

I though this might be a power consumption issue at this point, so I turned PC off and unplugged an IDE drive I don't use and two fans, left side of case off. Turned back on, everything is golden.

Played BF3 for about 2 hours. checked temps: CPU 48C. GPU 58C. System 40C. VRM 40C. Like I said, Golden.

Played for another hour and it froze solid. screen had bf3 still, windows didn't respond, ctrl+alt+del didn't work, no mouse, nothing. Hit Reset, nothing. Held down power for 4sec, it shut off. waited 4sec, turned back on, fans spin up but doesn't post. turned off again waited 10s turned back on, boots up fine.
