I have a stock Intel i5 2500k cooler. NOW HOLD ON before you guys go crazy haha (just messin). Ill be gettin my paycheck for that next week but idk. I kinda want a new case though. I have an nzxt h2. I like it and all but I kinda want something different and better for cable management. What do you guys think? I WANT SOMETHING HUGE!
huge isn't better. Air flow on your case if probably fine if you want performance get a cooler if its only looks that bothers you then case.

Buy an SSD. thumb.gif

Otherwise I'd just get a better cooler.

Unless you're planning to XFire/SLI or you are running in to some thermal issues I'd hold off on a new case. My Antec 300 was fine for my uses, even with 2x 120mm intakes and a single 120mm exhaust and two 560 tis I never had any issues with heat and noise was somewhat acceptable.

As of now, my only experience with cases is limited to an Antec 300, HAF 932, and a 650D. I'd recommend the 650D over and over again due to it's massive size (great for building in and mods) and great cable management (a little tight behind the mobo but some careful routing solves any bulging issues). From a practical standpoint the HAF 932 is a great case but I personally can't stand the looks of it.

UNOE has a point. A bigger case doesn't really mean that it will be better than a smaller one. If your airflow isn't good then that just means your case will take a little longer to heat up than with a smaller case with similar airflow.

I'd say get a new cooler first and then look at some cases. That 2500k really needs a good air cooler or an AIO water cooler to really shine.

I vote for new cooler, you can oc and it'll do more for your performance than a new case. And for $120 you can get a really nice cooler, but maybe a more average case. So if you want a significant improvement over the H2 you might want to put a little more cash into it.

next question which cooler... I LOVE the noctua nh-d14 but theres other competition. I want the best temps and i wanna oc my 2500k to 5.0ghz

H100, I will vouch for performance and ease of install and care requirements. Full water loops are are obviously gonna get you a few degrees colder but for the money and maintenance and your price range, I would say it would be a great upgrade.

That really depends on how it clocks too, if its average you have several choices. You mentioned the Noctua, Thermalright Silver Arrow, theres a bunch of huge tower coolers. Antec Kuhler 920, Corsair H80 and H100 and theres more that I dont remember off the top of my head for AIO liquid cooler uses, I've ran my 2500k and 2600k @ 5ghz on both no problem. Both have "risks" so to say, weight of the massive air coolers and possible leaks for the water coolers, pick your poison. I would definitely go for a cooler over a case however. I've used or built inside a few of the popular cases, HAF 922, Storm Scout, Corsair 500R, HAF 932, Antec 900, NZXT Phantom to name a few, Corsair hands down has the best build quality and cable management for me.
