I have heard nothing but good about the EK Multioption Res X2 150 Advanced, and with 8x ports you have a ton of options. You shouldn't be pushing water from the pumps into the res, it should be res before pumps ALWAYS. it's the only real set-in-stone rule for water cooling.

And what bout res #1 to pump to res #2 to blocks n rads? Will suffer performance with that?

Actually I found that that answer so if I can get the rest of these questions answered I would be happy biggrin.gif
2. In the hardrive cage that will now become a pump station, is it still possible to have a hard drive in there lets say above the pumps and their ek pump tops? I know there are bay resorvoirs that incorprate dual pumps on it lk the RP-452X2 Dual 5.25in Reservoir for 1-2 PMP-450/S Pumps, Rev.2.0 but this config is 34 bucks cheaper

3. I have not yet decided what fans I want. Either NZXT FZ-140mm or maybe some Akase AK-FN063 which I can't seem to find any type of test to verify Akase claims on the specs. Since the Nexxos rad works great in all ares of rpms it really broadins the choice of fans. Silent is key here no noisy fans. How would white leds look on a red spinng fan? Also since I want to keep the cost down as low as possible and the MVF has 8 4 pin fan ports I want to use that instead of a $30 fan controller. Do the D5's need a fan blowing on them to stay cool, since there is the option of having the fan blow into the pump station i'tt be easy but the prob is I have the 2 pumps with a rpm reader on it that needs to be plugged into the mobo as well so if I have 5 fans only pulling air from the rads (have read they perform best this way with only one fan) and there are 2 case fans (one rear of the case and the other at the pump station) plus the 2 pumps that means I need 9 fan ports short one port

4. Last question is what will it take to make that 420 rad fit in the top of the switch 810 case?

You won't fit a 480, but a 420 will fit perfectly and actually has more surface area than a 480 by a few thousand square millimeters.

If you want quiet you would be best served by getting a fan controller and some decent fans that you can turn up or down depending on your needs. Beyond that just look for fans with a decent amount of static pressure, as getting bad fans will defeat the purpose of building this loop. Bitfenix Spectre Pro 140mm fans may work well for you, and they have a variety of colors and LED options.

What I really want is a stink in detailed reviewed on the Akasa 14cm viper fans then I can properly judge btw fans. So the built in software on the asus mobo (the fan expert 2) won't help manage my fans down? If I get a fan controller is there a real big benefit in having pnp fans compared to just pull? The only thing I found was this

I am budget minded but not so much as skimping by, I still want the best things but only if it is worth the $$$. just thought two pumps for the redundancy and a bit more head pressure would be worth it
I was having many problems trying to figure out how to set this loop up because of the two reservoirs 2 rads and routing the tubing through the top panel so I know it's becoming a complex loop
after listening what what was suggested I came up with this loop design what do y'all think

That really won't, you would lose flow going into the second res and not have enough pressure to get the coolant through the blocks and rads back to the first res. If you're going to run to reservoirs, there has to be a pump after each. res>pump>res>pump>blocks/rads>rad. But then the first pump is completely pointless as its running directly into the second res leaving the second pump to do all the work. The only way I could possibly see it working is if you went out the bay res into the top of the tube res then has the series pumps after the tube res.

I haven't worked with 140mm fans much, but I always hear good things about Noiseblocker, but those are pretty pricey. I've been reading up on the new Corsair line of fans and Cougar fans, and they both seem like solid candidates as well. Then of course there is always Yate Loon as a cheaper option. It just depends on how big of an issue noise is for you.
