Curious to see how well mainstream Haswell overclocks.

Haswell-E and Broadwell look promising DDR4 prices are probably going to be high though as Samsung and Hynix will probably be the only ones able to mass produce DDR4 IC's by second quarter of 2014.

I feel like they just made up how much faster haswell is compared to ivy.

It seems a bit low, although AMD can't compete at all so I guess there is no reason to released a chip that is 50%+ faster than ivy.

There's not many IPC gains out there to be had. Until something revolutionary comes out, you're not going to see large gains in performance ever again. At least on Intel's side... AMD has plenty of catchup to do.

Based on reviews I've seen HD4000 is about twice as fast as HD2500

So, if Haswell GT2 is 3 times faster than HD2500 then it going to be around 1.5 times faster than HD4000 which is still impressive

Keep in mind that Intel is planing to make GT3 for haswell but only for some mobile models

What games do you play that 4.1Ghz Core i7 is not enough? I have my IVY @ 4.0GHz and i dont see the point to OC more for games with 1 GPU.

A Quad core Sandy or Ivy without HT is not enough for anyone that plans to go multi-GPU. Especially if they plan on going 3 or more GPUs. My 2500k was not enough for my 3 7970s even at near 5ghz in BF3. Hyperthreading would change that, but my 3930k really stretches its leg in that department.

Hasewell will be my next upgrade if it does not reach 90+ C like Ivy Bridge when overclocked.
I already got tired from the heater I have at 4.0 GHz.
