I don't see why Nvidia is making such a big deal about this anyway. Obviously TT is going to get their hands on new hardware early anyway so why not send them a review sample so they will have to sign an NDA? That is what makes me clueless toward Nvidia.


Although if TT doesn't sign an NDA and gets a haswell chip and puts out an early review then I will welcome that.

There are no more upgrades for socket 1155. You might be thinking IB-E which will be socket 2011.

The next socket for haswell is socket 1150 I believe.

I guess they could throw in a 3780k or something like that. They did with the 2700k just a little before the ivy bridge release. I remember reading somewhere that demand for ivy bridge actually isn't that high though, so I think it's doubtful that they will release a new SKU.

It's the same situation as with SB-E and SB-EP. SB-E is just SB-EP with 2 disabled cores, unlocked multi and no dual QPI links.

Well if they came out with a "new" cpu it wouldn't be any better. It would probably be called a 3870k with a 100mhz bump in clock speed over the 3770k. Just like the 2700k over the 2600k. There is NO difference between the chip besides the stock clock which is a simple multiplier change away.
