I'm new to the gaming arena but from what I've seen both in person and on the web 3 screen setups (i.e eyefinity) are going to be the way to go if you want to be a top level FPS player. Being able to see so much peripheral field is insane. The first time you see a enemy walk right next to you and stop and you see him just standing there while you head shot him you will be hooked. Also from what i've been seeing most setups are good screen in the middle (main) and the outer screens are generally cheaper alternatives.

For movies and other things a 2 screen setup would be fine. I used to use my exes 2 screen setup to watch movies and do homework at the same time.

An extra screen helps multitasking a lot!
From having more than one photos or videos to work with in the same program, to expand your toolbars in half the secondary screen and watch a movie/netflix etc on the other - so that something keeps you company when you moonlight.

Woah....darn email notifications just stopped....

Thanks for the news about the Dell 2711, I saw it, and while I have a current Dell which I like, I totally want a glossy screen now. Not more matte on my desktop.

I'm actually leaning heavily towards a Korean 27 now, especially since 2 of them is the sale price of said Dell. (just as Descadent pointed out).

^ I gotcha, I'm not a fan of glossy monitors myself but I drooled over the apple display I use now just because of the build and the glossy glass.

Yah there's always the price difference too, all just preference. I'd have to machine out a new enclosure for one of the korean monitors if I were going to get one but that's just my thought, don't think I could go fully back to plastic housing
