Hi,

Next week I'll get a new cpu, but I am able to choose. I look at benchmarks, read forums and forum yet ....

So I would like some advice. Which to take? and a sugestion motherboard?

Suppose it's three processors are the same price

i7-2600k
i7-2700k
i7-3770k

THX!

I currently have a E8400 OC 4Ghz with 4GB DDR2 1066

I was playing games like CoD's CS: S, WOW, Diablo 3, NFS and more

I also do video editing (premiereCS6 and computer graphics (photoshop cs6)

If they are all the same price, there is no question or debate.

3770k wins. Clock for clock it wins, and all are pretty much guaranteed 4.5ghz overclocked. Anything above that is just luck of the draw.

You are by no means guaranteed to overclock better on SB or IB.

Do you plan on overclocking and with what kind of cooling? I just went from 2500k to 3570k and am happy I did.

I have the 3770K, upgraded from the 2600K. I am restricted by temperature now for the overclock. I am @ 4.6GHz with the same temps I had @ 4.9GHz on the 2600K. Not a biggy though am very happy I went to the new processor.

Not this debate again.

For the same price or similar price, get the 3770K. If you can save a bunch of money, get the 2600K, as the 3770K isn't too much faster than the 2600K, especially if you are only gaming.

For this, 3770K. It's a better processor, just not that much better. If you would have said 199 for the 2600K, my answer would have been much different.

Simple answer: Go for Ivy 3770k unless you can get Sandy substantially cheaper than Ivy. In your case, it's not an option.
