Ubuntu drivers

Thread Starter 

Do I install drivers for my stuff on ubuntu when I have the drivers for windows installed on another partiton. Also, I have a sabertooth z77 mobo and intrigrated gpu on my i5 3570k so if you know please tell me where to find them. Thanks for your help in advance.

Drivers are built into the kernel. No need to download any. The few proprietary ones will have a popup window after you install to tell you that there is some.

Do I need to trigger the window to open or will it open after the first boot?

After first boot. But only if there are proprietary drivers needed. Most though will be built directly into the kernel itself.

It should open. I'm not that familiar with Ubuntu, but I know in Xubuntu a little icon appears on the top panel which you click and then activate the driver, but I'm sure it will pop up on Ubuntu

If your hardware is Nvidia you should run "jockey" and get "current-updates". If not I think AMD is better with the FOSS drivers? What hardware do you have?
