Thanks, Shrak! I'll give it a shot! At this rate, I may consider dual-booting Linux on one of my higher-end macbooks biggrin.gif

Any recommendations on word processing software, with spell check and all that?

OpenOffice works wonders and has come a long way since the old LibreOffice days where there was a ton of bugs. Now it's a close match to Microsoft Office for the average home user. I would the main area slacking is the excel area for doing a bit more in depth stuff, but for the most part it's more than enough, still no match for Microsoft Office in the Excel area. But Word is pretty much on par for anything you'd likely need to do.

Should come preinstalled ( I think? Normally does with most distro's these days tongue.gif ).

Ah! It does come with LibreOffice biggrin.gif

I had figured OpenOffice would be the optimal choice, I just wasn't sure of it's compatibility.

Maybe it was Libre that was better... I'm not sure anymore I'm dead tired and can't remember the difference between the two. I'm not very helpful on weekend nights thumb.gif

I neglected to include my Spanish ancestry, and I'm predominantly European, so I know the difference tongue.gif

But my Spanish ancestors shipwrecked off the coast of Ireland, remaining there and marrying into Irish families. ohno-smiley02.gif

That's where we differ then, my family seemingly got together and had an orgy with everyone in sight when they landed in the states wave2.gif Starting out as Spanish, then banged the Mexicans and Native Americans, then after a couple hundred years got jiggy with Irish and German immigrants.

I take most to my Spanish roots though, grew up in my grandmothers house who didn't speak a lick of English and is the classic 4 foot tall looking mexican lady.
