I my WDD Green will ONLY start up if booted into linux first...
Bios sees it as a S.M.A.R.T error and windows does not even see it.
but if I boot into linux the drive will spin up correctly and then I can reboot into windows. rolleyes.gif

tried clearing the cmos before when i was troubleshooting the Videocard. I booted up that program and it recognized my SSD that i recently purchased, my two 200gigs in Raid, and the thumbdrive.

it did NOT see ither my 3tb or the 500gig that my OS is/was on.

i have an adapter that turns SATA to USB and when used i dont even get spinup sounds from it. i really dont want these drives to be dead ESPECIALLY my 3TB.

Hmm, not sure on the 500gb but the 3tb, I remember something about not all motherboards supporting them as a single partition..or something like that. =\

they both have worked before. so it was really confusing what happend.

I have seagate sending me a replacement for the 3tb and I thing the 500gb is just going to disapear.

My videocard i am attempting to get in touch with sapphire to RMA it but they havent returned calls. newegg said try them first and sapphire said try newegg firsts. so.... ugh

after going out to pick up a new one it seemed that some of the HDDs are not responding. Even to the point they wont showup in disk management. dont remember if they show in bios, need to check that.
Video card still runs at 100% fan and is refused to be recognized by the motherboard. dont have another mobo with a PCI-e slot or another card to troubleshoot this with. So unsure what to do there.
but it looks cool

and again not done yet, some more small details to paint and the towers to make.
here is a rough paper cutout of the tower shape and size to get a feel of it

In general I like the whole idea of the build, paint job is cool thumb.gif In an effort to make that window job a little cleaner looking, I would use some of this U-channel from MNPCtech. It's small and pliable, so when going around corners you don't have to cut it into multiple pieces, like you've done now.

Yea i wasnt fully happy with the trim, but it came with the plexy glass. might try and use some type of bonding glue to make it closer fit.
The gap between the window and side panel is large enough that i dont think i could get away with that skinny of trim anymore.

but good for future use. thumb.gif

well I finaly got in touch with Althron micro the company that makes sapphire brand videocards. After a bunch of emails they gave me a case. And the Videocard is in their hands. If they fix it or replace it we shall see.

the 3TB from Seagate came and it works fine. so in theory i have a working computer. I just cant do anything cool because the videocard is still not in my possesion

on another note the digital gauge thermometer that i ordered had dimmed out. the back light burnt itself out or something. and that happend to the second one that FrozenCPU sent me. I dont think its their fault, but something wrong with the gadget. Im going to have to find someway of lighting it again....
