Dominator Platinums, are they worth it? [Review]

I purchased a set of 1866 Dominator Platinums 2x4gb, yes I know they're probably over priced but I figured I would check out if the hype and performance is worth the price. I'm currently at work and will be doing a review once I get home later tonight. I haven't seen much information on these modules other than what TTL has shown on his youtube channel which really wasn't anything performance oriented, I plan to push these to at least 1.65 volts and see what kind of timings and maxxmem results I can get out of them compared to my current G.Skill RAM. Bwahaha I usually play Battlefield till around 11:30 to 1:00am EST , yes I know I'm not going to be able to push these to much beyond 2133 on sandy but I will be able to see the timings and voltage needed for both. It should give a good estimate of performance.

Well the answer is no, unless there is something wrong with my hardware or it doesn't like the P67 chipset this RAM is pretty much the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. I can't get the RAM to run at any other timings than stock even @ 1.7v. I can't stably boot into windows @ 9-9-9-24 1T (they're rated @ 9-10-9-27 2T) @1866, tried to get the 2133 strap to work @ 11-11-11-30 @ 1.7v and no dice. No tighter timings or increased frequency, and I'm not going to BCLK clock just to see if it can as I feel it's a waste of time. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement, I figured at least being able to run these are 9-11-11-28 or something similar would be possible, I really didn't expect to see NO gains at all from voltage, perhaps I got a dud pair... they look great but perform as stated and ONLY as stated. I'll probably return these here very shortly as I'd rather get something cheaper that clocks much better.

I suppose the Dominator name really isn't what it used to be, perhaps that's why you really don't see much information about these kits out there since we'll at least my sample or whatever was absolute garbage. I don't hate on Corsair as I do like their products but this is basically a light bar put on some sub par RAM dressed up real nice. TLDR this RAM runs as stated timings and nothing more.

Was just looking @ the Newegg reviews, there was one guy that got his kit to run @ 2400 on IB, so perhaps it is P67 issue, going to see if I could perhaps update my BIOS and see if I can get any other results.
