What does this beep code Description mean to you?

Thread Starter
I have an old hp Desktop Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 that came into my possession. I'm trying to resurrect it and have the following beep code:

3 short beeps: Unable to start flashing (such as when missing a utility or BIOS image)

I'm not too clear on what this description actually means.

Does this mean the Bios image is not being properly read (improperly flashed, or battery dead) or is it that the Mobo is just pooched?

Many thanks.

According to this http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-010249.htm, it has to do with your memory. Try reseating it then run a single stick or attempt to aquire a different stick to test the board.

Thanks Raptor,

Apparently it was the CPU needing reseating.

Searching for beep codes for HP and intel I found three totally different answers throughout the web:

3 short beeps: Unable to start flashing

3 short beeps: Memory Problem

3 short beeps: CPU Issue

Unfortunately BEEP codes are no longer universal, depending on the Bios, version, and even manufacturer the codes can mean completely different things.
