Upgrade Advice (partial or whole revamps welcome)

Thread Starter
Hey everyone,

I recently built a new computer (Nov 11) and I have had some mixed feelings about the components I selected initially. It runs decent but I am a little unsatisfied with the case, gpu and cpu. I'm a fairly seasoned builder (Back to AM2/LGA775). The last rig I built before my current one was in 2008. Things have changed so much and I have a good handle on what is new but there are a lot of features I dont quite understand yet.

My current setup is as follows:

MOBO:
ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

CPU:
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 BX80623I52500K

RAM:
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXM

PSU:
CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

HDD:
Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

CASE:
ENERMAX FULMO Advance ECA892AG-BL Black SGCC 0.7mm ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

GPU:
MSI N560GTX-Ti Hawk GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Cooling:
CORSAIR CWCH60 Hydro Series H60 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

I'm looking for some advice on where to go from here. Please identify and weaknesses and in your best opinion give your recommendations on upgrades.

I mainly use this as a computer gaming rig but I am starting to program and would like to get into some video editing.

Thanks!smile.gif

Looks good to me .
If you can squeeze a SSD would be better .

I was thinking about getting some quieter fans. I am running 2 Scythe Kaze 3000rpm fans and they are crazy loud. Maybe switch to some Gentle typhoons? Also, maybe a different case. I'm not really a big fan of this one because the airflow is pretty bad regardless of fans and the cable management is crap.

I am still debating on slapping another 560ti in there or do an upgrade and get a 670.

Thoughts?

I'm not looking to lose an arm or a leg but I want to reduce bottlenecking and get it up to par to be able to run BF3 on Ultra with no frame rate issues. Also, something a little cleaner perhaps.

Im content with waiting to upgrade the MOBO for now. Can anyone identify weak components? I know a 670 would be best but I am unsure on the case. There are so many and I am looking for a Mid tower with good cable management. Preferably black.

I am open to any and all suggestions. I feel like I have a strong build but would just like some input from some other people that might be more versed in components.

650D gets my vote!

A Corsair 650D + a 670 = A damn nice upgrade!
