Not in the socket, but directly behind the socket yes. I don't remove any brackets, just get all the accessible areas.

just like to vote for this method as well. im a new convert to subzero, used this method with dry ice. Vaseline and toilet paper and it works a treat. no issues so far at all.
i mean, except that my board is covered in vaseline, but i'll worry about that later haha.

Or, if you're feeling a little daring you could just throw it in the dishwasher.
