exactly the method I use to prep.. minus the vas wink.gif. I lay down some FrostKing on the mobo PCB and towel/foam over it.

 

*Nice work on the guide. hope it gets some noobs itching to freeze!

I make my ram pot the same way out of alum foil. TBH, think it works better then laying a pot on top of the ram. I add copper BB's into the alum pot to add mass and help hold the cold larger.

+1 for the Dishwasher to clean off the Vaseline...

I do it everytime and have never had a problem yet.

Just remember to take the CMOS battery out before you stuff it in there.

does this method get *all* of the vas off? lets assume i need to RMA and the company actually looks at the board before they approve rma.

just thought I would add a shot of my slots prepped before insulating... I tape. 

 

 

 

*close up..  notice- tape is not cut.. it is exact width off the roll, to fit between 2x channel 

 

 

 .. Just helps keep the other slots dry when your not using them.
