How do you tell if your Sata cable is a sata 6 cable

I have 2 black sata 6 cables but I hav e a bunch of red ones that came with previous mobos HDD's but with the black cables they say have a 6 on them but the red ones do not. So im assuming these red ones might not be sata 6 cables?

 

The red cables near the connectors all say Serial ATA

I heard there is no such thing as a sata 6 Gbps cable, its only gimmick.

I was looking for the same answer last month and both cables are identical.

There is no difference between a SATA I and a SATA VI cable. Except bigger profit margins.

I've Heard all that is diffrent is the colour of the outside, inside is just copper, Even a sata cable that came with a sata 1 Hdd Will have the Same Transfer rate as a sata 3 hdd's Cable, The Diffrence in Sata is in the Hdd and The sata Socket on your Motherboard.

The others are right. There is no difference. There has been some revisions to the newer SATA plug specs that allow for clips on the connectors, but otherwise it's pretty much the same.

awesome thanks. much appreciated. The reason I asked is because i want to switch my cabled from black to Red because Im going for a red theme type :). Was worried that I was going to have to buy new cables
