If you ever decide to pull the cooler to change the TIM I very highly recommend putting your screw driver into a rubber band and pressing very firmly into the screw's as they strip ridiculously easy on the 4xx's. Also be sure you have the correct driver wink.gif

Ive had them out one of my 480's twice w/o issue doing that. thumb.gif

Take care of the card. Setup a good fan profile that is good enough for you. Heck get yourself an aftermarket cooler (if you can find one). An even better thing to do would be to get in on water.
I usually idle at 31-34c and load at the most of 60c at 850core/900mem @ 1.187v
So if you want to re-seat your gpu and see if you can get yourself a better cooler because the stock cooler is actually pretty crappy.

24C idle here 52C load, 1087 vcore @875MHz, 30% fan locked.biggrin.gif

look into the kuhler mod on your card then zip tie a h70 on it like me:thumb:

my GTX 470 sandwich (3x gtx 470) would get really hot, expecially the middle and primary card would get up to the 90s without boosting the fan to around 60% or so, even higher when overclocking or gaming and that was at stock voltage. I bought a lot of TIM and thermal pads for it but I never got around to messing with that whole approach. my idle wasn't that high but granted I use a techbench but that depends on your case and airflow I imagine

also once you crank those fans those 470s get LOUD! if I wasn't upgrading I would get some 20 foot dvi cables to distance myself from my pc lol
