As a gamer who has put in hundreds, if not thousands of hours in X-Com: UFO Defense and X-COM: Terror From the Deep since '94 and '95 respectively (on every Windows operating systems since 3.1 over DOS 6.22 ), I simply cannot wait for this release. I will definitely preorder.
I also predict it will be rated as one of the most awesome games of 2012. The original continues to be played worldwide and that kind of awesome is ready for an update, especially if you look at the videos on their website and realize the guy in charge of the project has been an X-Com fan since '94 and watch all the stuff they've done with the game and it's going to be one huge mix of awesome.
