There is no 3+1 setup that is designed to handle a 125W chip such as the 955. You may face performance issues or damage the board. Worst case scenario you might have to slap on some VRM cooling.

Yeah the M5A88-M is a good 4+1 phase board and will handle the 955 just fine.
