Hi All,

i have an issue with i cant seem to figure out,

I have the below components but my boot take like 3-5min

HTPC: Silverstone GD05 + Asrock H67M-ITX/HT + Intel 2500T + 4GB G.Skill ECO 1333Mhz 1.35v + Sapphire 7750 1GB DDR5 + Seasonsonic X460 PSU + Crucial SSD M4 64GB + Remote: Themaltake VFD with Harmony 700 + Logitech diNovo Mini keyboard.

The issue started when I had a 1TB HDD which i removed and then it started with very slow boot.

I have done the followings so far

1) reset the bios to default and then set it back up again.
2) updated the BIOS to the latest version
3) updated the SSD version to the latest version.
4) opened the PC to make sure there is no loose connections.

It appears to lock up for few minutes in the BIOS stage, when it enters windows its fine.

any advice appreciated

Thanks

Hi,

What do you mean by optimising the drive?

It locks up on the bios screen.

It's also set to AHCI.

Sounds more like the bios is sitting waiting to detect a drive or other device. Might try going into bios and disabling specific sata ports, and make sure the ssd is on port 0.

Thanks for the reply, I have resolved the issue by resetting the bios via removal of the cmos battery.

Thanks for all the replies.
