If you dropped in another APU, and are getting correct video as a result, then it's reasonable to assume that the other APU was bad. However, it's also reasonable to assume, that a setting or malfunction on the MOBO caused the original APU to fail. Unfortunately, what you have here is a situation that really can not be resolved with absolute certainty over the web with the information given. It's possible that the APU was bad, the MOBO was bad, or both had problems.

The motherboard is dead if he didn't get warning beeps with no ram in it. That is the problem. Rma the motherboard.

Btw, you won't get your warning beeps from your speakers or headphones. Only the little piezo speaker on the motherboard, or pc speaker that is part of your case.
