I don't consider that a valid reason for hating on the media industry. The artist is to blame for the artist not getting that money. The artists sign contracts that specify what they get and what the label gets. If they didn't agree to the label making money in return for promoting their music and chasing down people who are infringing their copyright, they wouldn't have signed the contract. Such activities are entirely ethical, although the way that they are carried out is questionably so.
On topic: Meh. uTorrent has changed a lot over the last few years, and is no longer the simple client it used to be. I might try the official client again, or perhaps venture out into the world of third party clients (other than Transmission).
