One important thing:
PCI freq is on auto. Make sure to manually set it at 100Mhz.
Other than that, if you are stable, start decreasing some voltages like for starters, try CPU Termination @ 1.40v and run this: Prime Blend Custom FFT size start 32 and end 32 for 30 minutes. If it passes, go for a full run of 10 hours. If not go up to 1.42v and repeat the process smile.gif

Oh God, I just noticed... your rams are 1066Mhz stock ... stupid me, I thought they ware 6400s... You can tighten the timings to 5.5.5.18 or leave on auto and for memory voltage leave it on auto or manually set it to their stock voltage. OR you could try running the next step in mem multi (2.4) and see if you can stabilize on 1200Mhz with your current settings. However, do this after youre done with CPU overclocking.

Hi I have the same board and CPU. If were me i'd lower cpu term as low as you can till it won't boot then one click. Then I would work on your reference voltages.

I would manually put the 2.1V into the dram voltage setting... If you like I can give you my settings for 3.91GHz. I've tesed it extensivally and found 3.91 to be the best atleast for my system. I bet the also have the same corsair dominator memory. Mine won't do much over 1106 MHz @ 2.40B.

Also what bios version are you running?

well did the tests it becomes unstable i think its the ram, i can only get it stable (with lower voltage) @3.1GHz, so im thinking this ram http://www.overclockers.co.uk/pimg/MY-359-CS_57334_350.jpg and this cooler ,http://www.overclockers.co.uk/pimg/HS-006-CS_34706_350.jpg what do you think it is worth investing i think i will get higher clock speeds without alot ov voltage.

My pc gets unstable if I set 105Mhz. Best to keep it at 100 for the time being until after he manages to make his pc stable.

Working with reference voltages is a reaaal pain. For example, I was advised to fiddle with CPU ref voltage to see if I can stabilize with a lower CPU term voltage but it never worked. For some people it does, for some it doesn't. Plus Ref voltage should be about 63% of Term voltage. I just keep them both linked to CPU term and call it a day.

Those rams are DDR3, we have DDR2 tongue.gif

To eliminate your rams out of the equation, just let them at 5.5.5.18 with manually setting 2.1v and a multi of 2.0B
How is your PC unstable? Did you get a BSOD? If so, what was the code? (that 0x0000xxx)

ok then iv been messing about abit, and cryptedvick is right pci is a nono at the moment and as for they upgrade that may be in the future. but i cant reduce cpu term under 1.44v other wise it crashes when i run the IBT after about 5 cycles so voltage is an issue and as for errors anytime it crashes it goes back to bios check sum error then recovers from backup then i start again.and i have tryd to run manual 2.1v on the ram i have tryd 5.5.5.18 2.0b 5.6.5.18, 5.6.6.18 and still the same problem, but i will keep tweaking the volts,and with that long use IBT temps are an issue reaching 85-87c so that gets me thinking about cooling that zalman is not cutting it lol.

I respectfully disagree with cryptedvick on reference voltages, I think they play a big part in stability. A friend of mine wrote this when I was going for 500 fsb.

Here's some useful info relating to reference volt settings
(edited from several PMs with Lsdme)

All reference voltages must be set with their respective "Controlling" Voltages at stock.

=============================================
CPU Termination (Vtt) Automatically changes the following if manually set >>>

CPU Reference Voltage (63% of Default Vtt/1.20) .76 ET
CPU Reference2 Voltage (67% of Default Vtt/1.20) .80 ET
MCH Reference Voltage (63% of Default Vtt/1.20) .76 ET

=============================================
DRAM Voltage Automatically changes the following if manually set >>>

MCH/DRAM Reference Voltage (50% of Default Dram Voltage)
DRAM Termination Voltage (50% of Default Dram Voltage)
Channel A Reference Voltage (50% of Default Dram Voltage)
Channel B Reference Voltage (50% of Default Dram Voltage)

==============================================
For example if you want to try 1.28 Vtt with .74 MCH Ref you must set Vtt to 1.20 first,
then go set MCH Ref to .74. Then go raise Vtt back to 1.28 and the MCH Ref will self adjust.

This is a table I created to bring some order to this madness:

Relationship of the Bios/ET6 values as a percentage of VTT (Cpu Termination) at 1.20 volts.

% of 1.20 values [before auto-adjustment]
55% = 0.660 || 60% = 0.720 || 65% = 0.780 || 70% = 0.840
56% = 0.672 || 61% = 0.732 || 66% = 0.792 || 71% = 0.852
57% = 0.684 || 62% = 0.744 || 67% = 0.804 || 72% = 0.864
58% = 0.696 || 63% = 0.756 || 68% = 0.816 || 73% = 0.876
59% = 0.708 || 64% = 0.768 || 69% = 0.828 || 74% = 0.888

one of these days I'm going to have to get around to overclocking my Q9550
I've yet to do it as the only time I see it get maxed is when I'm running boinc or folding@home or the very rare occasion of re-encoding something I recorded on my HTPC with handbrake, usually when I record something I decide I want to keep and want to reduce the file size
