Watercooling 2x GTX690 - Page 13

The heatsink should be in stock at the end of the week, so i should get the pump Saturday or next week sometime.
My caselabs parts are in the UK now so they should be here in the next few days.

for the res i was thinking of putting it in like:

Would that work with the in and out being so close to each other?

Are you saying i should not get the raystorm and should find one by aqua? i checked some reviews of the raystorm and it seems to be one of the top performers, but the main thing i like about it is that the ports are both far apart so that the compression fittings will fit nicely.
as for the gpu block, i could not find one by heatkiller, but i could get two by aquacomputer, would the aquacomputer one outperform the xspc and koolance ones?

Is it possible to remove the barbs from the mcp35x2 and replace them with compression fittings? And if i do, will it void the warranty?

EDIT: sorry, should have done a search but i forgot (tired) for anyone else who wants to know, yes you can, and its in the manual so i doubt that it voids the warranty.

sorry this is my third post in a row, how much tubing do you think i will need to buy? i am currently looking at buying xspc high flex white with xspc fittings.
Could someone also advise me on some good angled fittings that go well with the xspc ones?
thank you

You can but there's a drop in performance using the alternate flow route.

my 690s are both getting very hot now that its summer (80c+ in games) so my room is being heated up to about 33c which sucks D:
i am going to watercool the 690s ONLY as i am happy with my h100 as it would be doing a perfectly good job if my cards weren't exhausting into the case causing my cpu to be around 10c hotter frown.gif so when i get my 690s watercooled with the Rad in the psu side of my case the h100 will go back to keeping my 3930k at around 30c.
As this will be my first custom loop i have no idea what to get...
i would like it to be as simple as possible with as few connections as possible (best case scenario would be a radiator with res and pump integrated in it so i only need tubing going from the card to the rad so there are as few points for it to leak as i can get.) as i am not comfortable with this.. terrible anxiety problems + no more money to replace wet 690s + low self esteem = not happy about watercooling xD
so what parts should i buy for this? if possible please list parts available in the uk.
Thank you smile.gif
P.S. Res size can be 360mm for anyone who is not familiar with the M8. I would also like to keep the front of my case clean with no drive bay reservoirs, which makes an integrated pump + res in the rad even more ideal
I will be ringing Specialtech about the availability of this rad tomorrow, hopefully they will be getting more soon as i would love this : http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/Swiftech-MCR320-Drive-Rev3-Series-360mm-Triple-Radiator-Heat-Exchangers-with-Integrated-Pump-and-Reservoir--MCR320-DRIVE-R3-pid-14797.html
EDIT: i am now considering cooling my cpu too as if i am going to break my cards i might as well break my cpu too.

listen: 2 690s with those rads will prob just drop temp with 5 degrees, id say u should go for

one for each 690

Wow, what an amazing thread. An amazing topic ... an OP with two 690's and a case labs case doing a budget build? OK.
An alarming ammount of bad advice mixed with some fanboy arguments, COOL.
Some jealous people criticising owning 2 690's like its a crime or something to be "wasteful" and have excess power. LOL
"I say you need Rads the size of your case", ... "No, I say you need rads the size of your room". ... "No way you are both wrong ... he absolutely needs to convert one of the walls of his house to a radiator."

Dude, you need to just stop listening to random forums dudes and do a hell of a lot more reading about the topic before you dive in so deeply, That is the best advice I can give. When you have learnt a bit more you will develop specific goals, (performance, noise, cost) it then becomes much easier to choose an arrangement you will be happy with.

There is no right and wrong way to go about what you want to do and if you are really worried about breaking stuff ... being talked into a bunch up ultra end gear you don't know enough about is a great way to go about it.

kinda agree but i tried help him, but either way he needs a big rad since above 50 degrees then u have overclocking issues with powersaving in the 690s, u cant turn it off.
iv used dry ice and nitrogen on mine and i know what im talking about

the 480 i showed can do best with the 690s, id say he would get 32 degrees if ambient is 12 degrees on the 480, with the rad he wants he would have 60 degrees maybe more, there are people who uses 4 480s for single 690. and what if he wants to change parts in the future? the 480 is cooler than the 360, so if u have 360 before the 690 then ur gonna have higher temps than if u did with 480 before it, and pump and res will slow the speed of water down when its in the radiator also it would heat up the radiator with some degrees and even more over hours use, also u must understand that the water will heat up over time
