Anybody know where I can get my hands on the original version of the deathadder? I recently bought the new 3.5G Black edition and there's a serious problem with the lift off distance. It makes it almost impossible for me to use, mainly because I'm constantly picking my mouse up when I'm playing games, it's a bad habit really but it just can't stop doing it! I've heard that the original sensor doesn't have this problem. I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find a place that sells it, surely there must be some of them still out there. Cheers.

I have a 3G Deathadder and an Imperator. I like them both, but the DA is a little better. I'd be willing to sell it to you for $50 plus your 3.5G and paid shipping of your choice both ways. PM me if interested.

They stopped selling them not long after they came out with the v3.5. If you do find one, it'll either be refurbished or at some no name place. I have 2 of them still

i felt that the tape fix messes up with the tracking somehow...
After removing the tape after 4 months of use, I noticed how much "faster/snappier" my mouse felt. Though the low lift-off was ridiculously low, I think i prefer it without the tape.
Transparent tape covering the sensor. There are variations that only cover the bottom half though.
