Interesting, I thought for a minute amazon just mislabeled a Hien VE, but it does look like it's a new pad from Artisan (along with the Classic?). Doesn't show up on the Eng main page but it is on the Japanese main page. The Raiden (translator gave me thunderbolt) is Mid or XSoft, and that's all I got. Hayabusa replacement maybe?

Well it's got the same issues as the Hayabusa so maybe.

"Same issues," as in problems?

RAIDEN: operation check DA 3.5G / G300 / Kinzu V2 / KANA / SENSEI malfunction
post #6 of 83
I just received mine and i can proudly say I'm the first owner in all of the US considering how they quickly pulled it off Amazon.

I got the xsoft version and it is much faster and smoother than Hayate and Hayabusa. The speed is the same for both vertical and horizontal movements.

Out of the box right now it feels as fast as a shiden but not as slippery, so the control is way better than shiden.

I have every single artisan pad and this is the best one so far, they need to make a Large version so all of my friends can buy it.

Hope it doesn't stop working after 3 months like the garbage Shiden does, but i doubt that considering Raiden is cloth top, but we'll see.

EDIT: Pics with horrendous quality

hey cheater ! welcome to OCN ! biggrin.gif

what do you mean "Hope it doesn't stop working after 3 months like the garbage Shiden does" does the shiden became that slow after 3 months of usage ?

Can you please describe the cloth ? is it super rough like hien or smoother like hayate ? Is it possible for dust/dirt to get caught inside the weave or is it tight enough ???

my Shiden wore out after 3 months, then my backup Shiden wore out after another 3 months. When it wears out it gives me a different feeling with absolutely 0 control, but i recently started to think its my mousefeet and not the pad, but i will test that out some other day or year.

I already said it's smoother than the hayate, i can see some holes but they are insanely small so i dont know if a lot of dust will get in there, you can see the expanded picture they give out on the website
http://www.artisan-jp.com/artisan/img/raiden_exp.png

and it also feels EXACTLY like a cleaning cloth that came with my iphone 3g many years ago.

EDIT: kinda like this http://a.vimeocdn.com/si/videoschool/lenswipe.jpg but way smoother and you have to look really closely to see the holes or whatever you call those openings

As first adopter, you now have the responsibility of checking for incompatibility issues tongue.gif
