new to overclocking, 560 TI - Page 2

hey guys i have gtx 560 ti's too, i was wondering.. if i simply increase the core clock without adding any voltage the cards will just crash right and that would give me the indication of needing more voltage? Currently i have it at 930mhz with the stock core and it seems to run fine but I was wondering about pushing it a little faster.

Yes, in order to clock higher the card needs more juice. So increase the voltage little by little until crashing stops. Then proceed to clock higher. Good luck and happy overclocking! devil.gif

I got the regular MSI 560TI TF2. I looked at that thread and saw someone with a 5700 score for their MSI 560 TI, that is pretty amazing and hopefully I can reach that score..

Again, when should I be messing around with the memory clocks? It is worth overclocking the memory too right?

Looking good Harry thumb.gif

The reason we dont suggest Kombustor is that the 500 series cards have built in power circuitary limiters which negates Kombustors method of stressing the core.

Example: On my old 560 Ti, I reached 1025 Mhz "stable" with Kombustor & OOCT but it crashed with heaven, 3dmark11, folding and every game I owned. So, be warned... it does not accurately reflect your cards stability.

It is hot in my room at the moment because of the summer heat, about 25c in my room. Should I be messing around with the fan speed or just leave it on auto?
Whats the next step? I heard you can overclock this card to get close to 570 speeds. I want to get to those speeds.
Always set a custom fan curve. If you're adding voltage, you need to keep those VRMs cool.

Furmark based applications are just terrible in general for testing.

Should I bother with memory clocks guys or is the fps increase so little its not worth my time? Everyone in the 560 TI OC thread seems like they overclock their memory quite a bit.

Also 1 more question, for 3dmark 11 should I be using the full test or just the benchmark test?

From what I hear, OCing VRAM can cause problems in the long run.

If you lower the mem clock, can it allow you to increase the core clock?

It's at stock right now, you want me to lower it to increase my core clock?

I was asking Sethy that question.
