Why does EVGA have so few motherboards? What happened?

Back a few years ago EVGA had tons of motherboards but that seems to have changed. If you take a look at major web retailers

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007627%2050001402&IsNodeId=1&name=EVGA

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/guidedSearch.asp?CatId=13&sel=Mfr%3BMfr_1281

http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0393140

there are only 15 at MAX or so of them. Even ASrock has more than 50 of them and IMHO they are a relatively unknown but seem to be taking over. What has happened to EVGA to make them drop back to so few motherboards? Are they focusing more on quality vs quantity or possibly losing out to other competitors? I'm not anti EVGA but it just seems odd that a well known brand seems to be producing such few motherboards?

After the x58 lineup Evga's main motherboard designer & bios writer left to go to Asus. That's why Evga was late getting into the 1155 game & is still working on getting caught up. So far their boards/bios' just aren't what they used to be...

EVGAs whole team quit, and a few went to ASUS. Shamino also went to ASUS.

There was a really damn good R&D team that used to belong to ABIT, they were a big hit with their volterra PWM/VRm designs, and then they moved to DFI, and then to EVGA. EVGA's VGA department is much better than their motherboards in terms of sales, and thus they get higher bonuses, and it pissed off that team, so many quit and some went to other manufacturers and some just went into other industries.

Also with Z77 and Z68 and P67 UEFI BIOSes is now basically standard so it is hard to code a BIOS from the ground up like that, companies with more resources will do better with that.

However I have a Z77 FTW hardware wise it is extremely high quality, they are using 7+1 phase VRM with IR3550 which is the best powerstage that has been used on a motherboard to date. Their OC features are all also very godo except their voltage read points which seems to have to use some adapter.
