A general "It does not fit our needs" means nothing

the point of that is I really don't care what other people think about the os. I am not other people. If i don't like something I shouldn't be forced to use it and it be shoved down my throat like this os will be unfortunately.

How are you forced to use Windows 8?

TBH I don't care about gaming on pc (I do play). They will never make the games for pc as "dedicated" as people want them to be anyway.

It's funny, I don't understand companies, win7 was going fine why IN THE HELL did they have to go and change it? IT WAS FINE >frown.gif honestly I am mad. not for gaming, thats another story. but for the OS market in general, Mac osx is fine and I am using it now. It doesn't have drastic changes from eg 10.5 - 10.7 and thats fine. But why on earth did Microsoft have to go and do this? It's not like they tried to do it subtly, they just dumped it on us.

I do game on my pc and enjoy it and as much as people say they hated origin, I use it to play bfbc2 and bf3 and its fun, steam is fun as well. I have plenty of games on that. I honestly don't care if steam lose their sales or origin. That's to bad, that's business. We can't stop win8 and the crap Metro UI. We need to deal with it an move on.

As for that security thing on osx, I have been using mountain lion and I have downloaded a ton of non authorised applications and they work fine? even some that are from the app store that were free.

Yeah, I'm not liking Windows 8 at all so far, but I wouldn't say I'm being forced to use it. It's actually very easy to avoid using it.

Microsoft is losing marketshare and Apple's ecosystem between OS X and iOS is earning it money hand over fist. Microsoft wants a piece of that pie and does not want to continue losing marketshare, something had to change. Who knows if this is the right change or not though.

The apps you're downloading might be signed by Apple, or your security settings might be different than mine were. I had my security turned down to allow me to run anything (in Lion), but after upgrading to Mountain Lion it reverted those settings and I had to change them back.

Oh yeah just how people said we wont be forced from xp. Some businesses still use it but majority have moved onto 7. Same with 8. Many businesses have already tried this os out and will use it. The same thing will happen as a consumer, apps will be dev'd on win8 and wont work on previous versions. I can guarantee that microsoft will do that crap.

We all know it's the wrong move, but it will happen whether or not we want it to. They wont gain as much market share they expect, apple is dominating the market.

This is the computer industry; and in the computer industry, there shouldn't be a formula that is "Do one thing, do the same thing all the time, never change". It's the computer industry, things HAVE to change at some point, and not everyone is going to like it. In fact, SOME people are going to hate on it because it's the cool thing to do (See here for expansion on this idea) without actually having given it a fair chance (as in REAL world usage scenarios). You should find a new hobby if you don't like things to change.
