Memory Heat Spreader?

Just curious if you could put another RAMs heat spreader onto some of the Samsung 30nm RAM, I really like the performance but it's god awful ugly as vein as that may sound.

Yes you can. It would only be for looks though, like you said, and have no affect on performance.

I know what you mean, Samsung should have covered those babies up. Heat spreaders also get hot when a memory runs hot, so yes it does help in it's way and it's even better when a fan is placed right on top of the heat spreader, keeping it quite much more cooler.

No it doesn't, DDR3 in general doesn't get that hot, not enough to warrant heatspreaders.

If you are looking for something simply for cosmetic reasons, but which will also actually function as a (unnecessary) heatspreader, I personally think that theAkust ones wwith the really tall top fins/extrusions look fantastic. You can easily paint them to match your color scheme, too. About $5-7/each.
