Folding as a service?

Thread Starter
I recently purchsed a computer for my workplace. I wanted to start folding on this machine because it is idle 90% of the day.

I was trying to find information on how to fold as a service because its a public computer used for weather tracking and email for pilots. I cant have them closing the folding process everytime they jump on a do what they do.
If anyone knows how to run folding as a service that would be very helpful.

I looked into that firedaemon program but it costs 30$ for a liscence.

Got a good deal at furtureshop too, compaq complete system pent d 820, 1 gig, dvd burner, 250 gb hardrive, with 17in lcd, keyboard, mouse, copier/printer/scanner, speakers and sub 800$ with tax.(canadian)

why cant you auto run it. Just make a shortcut of the "winFAH.exe" and drag it to the startup folder in startmenu

Edit: you can use regcleaner and make a reg key startup so its harder to disable, only disable though program or msconfig

Create a shortcut to your FAH502-Console.exe
Right click the shortcut and add -configonly -local to the target location so that it looks like (example)
"C:\\folding@home\\FAH502-Console.exe" -configonly -local

Go through the settings and type Yes when it asks if you want it to load as a service.

The next time the computer starts up, it will load but nothing will show on the desktop nor in the taskbar menu (beside the clock). Unless the person goes into the Task Manager to close it, there's no way someone can "accidently" close your folding process.
