Hey, I tried both 1203 and 0806 renamed to ERALL.ROM. Neither of them work, it just gives me the solid blue light after a flash or two. frown.gif Not sure what to do..thinking about trying from the very first bios, to the last that I can do, and see if any of them work. Here's to trying....I want to play on this $1600 machine already. lol

rename 1203.rom to P9X79PRO.ROM and try again if it doesn't work then try older than 1203 .

Hi chrisraybell,

I can feel your pain.
I am facing a very similar problem with my P9X79 Deluxe, you can see here: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?20091-P9X79-Deluxe-BIOS-CAP-Convert-Problem
I decided to just buy a pre-programmed brand new bios chip from eBay.
In spite of usb bios flashback blinking correctly, there is no way I can bring my pc back to life (nothing appears on the screen when turned on).

I am expecting that the pre-programmed chip will solve my problem, and I think it can solve yours too.
Its not hard to find the model for your board on eBay, its like U$16,00 and the guys have good reputation and feedback.

I hope it helps.

Yea were pretty damn sure that the board just needs a new BIOS Chip, me and my brother are about to head out the door to drive about a 300 mile round trip to go buy one, and as well go to a computer place that does free diagnostics, just to be covered. Anyways, Thanks a lot guys, whether you think so or not you still helped me out rule out all the possibilities. I'm off to get my new bios chip, and I will be sure to let you know know anderson if that fixes the problem. Here's to hoping that me and you don't have to RMA our boards. You'll have feedback from me before the end of the day. Thanks again guys you were a great help for my final troubleshooting.

Not as of yet, we ordered the part, should have the new BIOS chip tomorrow. With any luck we will be able to just pop the new one in and a way we go. Should be updated already and everything. I'll let you guys know.

Recieved a new bios chip and a no go. Still the same stuff... Going to go off the hopes that the wrong one was sent; so were going to order one through ASUS eshop. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Willing to try anything. Been a sad couple weeks with a non working $1600 rig.

Try flashing this chip with the 1st version BIOS through the USB as mentioned in posts above.

Trying that now, pretty much guarantee it won't. It always acts like its having successful flashes
But can't boot afterwords. Hope the motherboard isn't dead; find it hard to believe an incorrect bios installation would kill the board completely

Just as I thought, no difference. Goes through like it flashes, but still the no post boot cycle.
