So I'm about to start my second year of college and I've been thinking about the most space efficient way to have my desktop in a dorm. I've decided that I want to forgo the bulky case altogether and just mount the motherboard directly on the wall above my desk. This also sounds ideal to me because transporting my case from home (LA) to school (Chicago) is out of the question.
This is obviously very unconventional so I'm wondering if you guys can foresee any issues I might run into, as well as possible solutions for them. For example, would the weight of my graphics card be problematic since I won't be using a motherboard tray? Would rotating the board 90 degrees relive some of the stress from the PCI slot?
Also, what would be the best way to mount my PSU, hard drive, and disk drive?
Thanks for your input. As always, it's very much appreciated. I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as I move in and get this all set up.
