The beauty of water cooling is the heat dissipation medium doesn't need to be in/around or even near the computer. I took a water heat exchanger (bought from e-bay) and built an outside unit. So no noise or heat inside and all the benefits of a cool running rig.

I have to turn off my idle printer on the other side of the room to hear mine....although the printer is an Epson 7800 which has a noisy fan... Hard drives usually make the most noise if they are doing something that requires a bit of thrashing about.

All depends on your case fans imo. I usually run 800RPM on all my fans and I get about 52c max on my GPU and 60c max on my CPU. It can be cooler, but the noise to performance ratio is great.

WC rigs can be left on indefinitely so long as the pump is working. I keep a watercooled folding@home boxen upstairs that has been at 100% CPU load for the last 3 months straight.

my pumps are the loudest part of my rig (two D5's), one is running at speed 3, the other at speed 5, I have a 360 and 240 rad both in push pull with the fans at 1/2 speed (AP15's and 1650 Xinruilians)

ironically the loudest fans I have that annoy me quite a bit, are my intake fans which are NZXT performance fans on a fan controller. If I set them any higher than 15% on the dial, they start howling pretty loudly
