If I lived by a MC, I would be tempted to do so, as I could return it if I hated it.

Which monitor do you have, and can you give me any advice on your experience going from your previous monitor to this one in games and other applications?

Well...
Right here in the Monitor Forum there are 3 very large groups of us that have imported. As I type this I am sitting on my Shimian, flawless panel, and I got it here for under $300.
Something to understand is that these panels are not made by just some random Korean shop that a guy has in his back yard. They are made by LG and are the same panels that Apple buys and puts in their $1000 iCinema displays. They are just graded different, Apple only wants the ultra premium highest possible grade, anything else isn't good enough for them apparently. In addition to the high rep sellers on eBay, who have their own return policies, you have eBay and Paypal buyer protection, and you can even purchase a Square Trade Warranty.
Want to see what these displays look like? Walk into an Apple store and look at their Thunderbolt or Cinema display.
